Here at Treeline Outdoors, we respect our customer’s right to data privacy and take our responsibility of storing collected data seriously. We use the highest measures of security on all the data we process. Lastly, we offer all customers the right to access their stored data and to opt out of data collection at any time.


In order to use Treeline Outdoors’s online services you must agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. 


We collect and store the following data:


  • User-provided data including: username, password, name, telephone number, email address, physical addresses, billing information, payment information, location data, Google or Facebook login information, product review information, company review information, marketing and/or customer service information, and other data collected from use of Treeline Outdoors’s website. 

  • Data collected and stored from the use of Treeline Outdoors’s website including: device identification information, webshop session events (ex: products added to cart), webshop browsing and usage, shopping history, ordered products, payments, refunds, shipping address, and payment methods.

  • Analytic-derived data including: product recommendation, shopping data, and customer’s interest.

Data Processing and Storage

We believe and follow in good data protection practices when processing customer data. Access to customer data is controlled. As of 25 May 2018, the requirements of the EU Data Protection Regulation have been taken into account in our operations and our operations now comply with these requirements.

All customer registration information is stored in a system which requires a username and password to access. In addition, the system is protected by firewalls and other technical means. Only specific and pre-defined Treeline Outdoors employees have access to and are authorized to use the information contained in the system’s registry. The information contained in the register is located in a locked and guarded premises. 

Occasionally, we need to transfer information to third parties - i.e. for storage, analytics or marketing. There are strict agreements with all our partners which take into account the requirements of the law and the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Under no circumstances do our partners have permission to use the information for their own purposes or to share the information.

How Long is the Data Stored?

The data will be stored for the time required to provide the services described in this Privacy Policy. Personal data from client accounts that are not active will be deleted no later than five years after the last activity. Occasionally, it might be necessary to store certain data for an even longer period of time, for example due to accounting obligations, as required of us by law. As our customer, you have the right to anonymize your client account, which means that all of your personal data will be deleted from your account and from your shopping history. Viewing or Deleting Personal Information

The customer always has the right to see their own data and to request the deletion of their data. You can send rectification, deletion, and other requests or questions related to your customer data to: info@treeline.fi

Correcting data

If the personal data stored in the registry is incorrect, unnecessary, incomplete or out of date for the purpose of its processing, then the data controller can correct, remove, or supplement the data. These actions can be done either by the data collector’s own initiative or at the user's request. The subject of the data must personally contact the data controller's Data Protection Officer to correct the data.

 

Does my information end up with third parties?

Only in mandatory cases does user information end up with third parties, for example, in cases of payment transactions, deliveries and/or marketing. Additionally, address and contact information is provided to the parties responsible for deliveries such as: Posti, Matkahuolto, Postnord, DPD, GLS or DHL. E-commerce payment transaction services are provided by Checkout Finland, Klarna, and Stripe. In connection with the payment transaction, the payment information passes through either Checkout Finland (www.checkout.fi), Klarna (www.klarna.com), or Stripe (https://stripe.com)

Both Checkout Finland, Klarna, and Stripe collect the IP address, payment method and time of payment in connection with the payment transaction.

These third parties are not permitted to use any data for their own purposes and are only provided with the data needed for the performance of the service. All the data is transmitted via encrypted connection.

Checkout Finland is a secure payment method. We have a payment institution license issued by the Financial Supervisory Authority. The service is maintained by Checkout Finland Oy (business ID 2196606-6) and Checkout Finland Oy is part of OP Financial Group.

Checkout Finland payment service will forward your payment to the merchant. If Checkout Finland Oy appears on your statement or credit card invoice, we have forwarded your payment.

BANK PAYMENTS

You have payment buttons for all Finnish banks at your disposal. Checkout Finland Oy is shown as the payee on your account statement. They will forward your payment to Treeline Outdoors. From the online store, you will be directed directly to your own bank to make the payment securely.

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS

You can pay online with Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Debit MasterCard and American Express cards. The online store uses international Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode and American Express SafeKey authentication services. Checkout Finland appears as the payee on the card invoice and forwards the payment made by the customer directly to the merchant. Card payments are made securely using a secure payment form and payment card information is not stored in e-commerce systems.

MOBILE PAYMENT

Mobile payment methods Pivo, MobilePay, Apple Pay, and Siirto are application-based services from which you can pay for online purchases by bank transfer from your account, or by card payment from your card, by accepting the payment in the application. Pivo also accepts Siirto payments, allowing the payment to be accepted in any application that supports Siirto.

PAYPAL PAYMENTS

PayPal stores and protects your credit card details, so you don’t need to enter the details each time you make a purchase.

You don’t need to have money in your PayPal account to make a purchase, as you can link a payment card to your account.

Payments are made in the same way whether you have linked a card to your PayPal account or transferred money to it.

The user confirms each payment using an email address and password.

Whether you pay by a card linked to your PayPal account or use your PayPal balance, paying by PayPal is free.

When paying with PayPal, your delivery address must be the same as the address you have registered with PayPal.
